I’m many things rolled into one but an about me page would not be complete without me sharing what I have been through in my life.
I grew up afraid in every sense of the word. It’s not that I’m afraid of everything from the dark to being alone. I was afraid of screwing up because I knew back then that a misstep means severe punishment. As a result, I never know who I was growing up. I never had that inkling as to what I can be in life. But during that time, I always felt that I can lead. That I have what it takes to help people if given the chance. I guess that thought was what helped me through that stage of my life.
You ever helped someone and they smile at you as they say a grateful “Thank You”? I love that! If I would guess where this belief that I can be a leader at a young age came from, I would say that these smiles played a huge part.
You see, I know early on that helping people is what makes me happy in the midst of my troubled childhood. And I thought to myself that if I can lead and help people, then I’d be happy too.
Unfortunately, even with that mindset as a child, I grew up following the wrong path. I leaned towards a life where drugs and alcohol are aplenty. This was my first BIG test. Instead of turning away from that lifestyle, I embraced it to the point that I took a job as a restaurant manager. That job gave me a lot of time to party.
The one day I thought enough is enough and decided to join the Military because I thought that it would change me and at least give my life a new direction. Although I went through it with flying colors, I still felt something lacking in my life.
Then I realized that the demons I faced as a child are still after me and I’m still running away from it. The fear of being punished for something I’ve done wrong was so ingrained in me that I threw caution to the wind and just manage to screw up just about everything.
That was until I met my wife. It’s a cliché but love does conquer all. I knew that in order to be a good partner (and husband in the future) to her, I have to clean up my acts. That’s when I started facing my demons. I can tell you that it’s not easy but with her by my side and the thought of building a future with her, I managed to pull through.
Of course, love and hope can only take you so far. You have to earn your keep to put bread on the table. That’s where my second BIG test came. The good thing was I landed a job with a major bank. I even saved enough to start my own company. The bad thing is, you guessed it, the market crash hurt me bad.
Without someone guiding me in investing and whatnot, I and a partner decided to help others achieve the American Dream by helping them become a homeowner. Guess you already know who were hit so badly by the recent economic meltdown.
Of course, I’ve been through worse and the first thing that I did after accepting my fate was to find another way to earn. That’s when some very good people let me in on what is now one of the fastest growing business opportunities. I learned that billions of dollars is being spent online and if I can only get a small slice of that pie, I would be able to provide my family with everything they need from my son and daughters’ college funds to the everyday things.
And now, I believe that it’s my turn to help others again. It’s time for me give back to the people by sharing with them the steps they need to take to lead a wealthy life just like other people have showed me in the past.
